New Delhi: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was killed in an attack by suspected militants in Mongbung village of Jiribam district of Manipur on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar Jha, 43, from Bihar, who succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack. Besides, a policeman has been shot in the head and is undergoing treatment, although according to police sources, he is said to be out of danger.
A vehicle of the security personnel was also damaged in the attack. Following the incident, additional security forces have been deployed in Mongbung village from the nearby hilly areas to enhance security.
