Nagpur. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that there was nothing wrong with the marriage of two different religions, but measures needed to take action against marital relations through fraud and misconception. Fadnavis told reporters that the Supreme Court and the Kerala High Court have commented on the reality of “Love Jihad”. The Fadnavis was answering a question asked by the state government to form a committee to study the legal aspects of the new law against forced conversion and ‘love jihad’ matters.

“Love Jihad” is a word that Muslim men are accused of by the right workers and organizations of a conspiracy to convert Hindu women into Islam through marriage. The Chief Minister said, “This is the fact and has been released in Maharashtra after fraud incidents and then after the birth of children.”

He made it clear that there was nothing wrong with international marriage, but fake identity and fraud cases are serious and need to be stopped. The state government has issued an official resolution (GR), which states that a committee headed by the State Director General of Police (DGP) will propose how to deal with complaints of “Love Jihad” and forced To deal with complaints of conversion. The committee will also consider the legal aspects and laws made in other states and recommend the law to prevent such incidents.

The committee includes the welfare of women and children, minority affairs, law and judicial, social justice and deputy secretary of the Department of Home Affairs and the Deputy Secretary of the Home Department. Regarding the formation of a committee, Maharashtra Minister and senior BJP leader Mangal Prabhat Lodha said that the state government was taking drastic measures to stop the incidents of ‘love jihad’ in the state.

Lodha, the acting minister of the suburbs of Mumbai, thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the move. He said, ‘Love jihad is a serious problem and the state government is working to stop such incidents. The committee formed to resolve the cases of love jihad will work to protect women and protect cultural values.
