The Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested 5 intruders from Agartala Railway Junction, one of the major stations in Northeast India.

According to news agency ANI, the GRP had received intelligence that some people had crossed the border into Bangladesh and reached Agartala and were planning to take a train from the railway station to other parts of the country. The GRP was then mobilized and launched a drive to nab all these infiltrators. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) also took help in this operation. A search operation was conducted at Agartala railway station. Special vigilance was taken at the entry and exit routes. Along with this, other railway staff were also advised to be alert.

Five infiltrators were caught.
According to information, during the search operation, the team of GRP and RPF found five persons in suspicious condition. A team of security forces immediately started questioning him. When he was asked where he had come from and where he was going, he could not answer the question correctly. On the basis of suspicion, the GRP detained all five. When they were strictly interrogated, it was found that one of them was a Bangladeshi and the other four were Rohingyas. He is currently in custody.

The arrested persons had entered the Indian border without valid documents, officials said. One of the infiltrators is a resident of Bangladesh and the rest are Rohingyas. Among them is a woman. They have been identified as Aamir Hakeem, Yasmin Akhtar, Muhammad Tariq, Mahmudullah and Shakoor Ali. A case has been registered against all of them in Agartala GRP police station. Let us tell you that the security on the India-Bangladesh border has been greatly enhanced. Vigilance at the border has been tightened, especially after the political crisis in Bangladesh.
