Father of Agni Missile and famous scientist of the country Dr. Ram Narayan Agarwal is no more. He breathed his last at the age of 84 in Hyderabad. According to DRDO officials, he was the first program director of the Agni missile. People also fondly called him ‘Agni Agarwal’ and ‘Agni Man’.

Dr. Agarwal retired as Director of ASL. He ran the Agni missile program successfully for two decades. He himself worked on the missile’s warhead re-entry, composite heat shield, on-board propulsion system, guidance and control, etc.

At present, the entire DRDO is saddened by the death of Dr. Agarwal. Former DRDO Chief and Missile Scientist Dr. G. Satish Reddy said that India has lost a legend. It greatly helped in the development of long-range missiles and the construction of their launching facilities.

India’s Agni Missile…

Agni-1… It is the country’s surface-to-surface missile. Its range is 900 to 1200 km. Conventional and nuclear weapons can be installed in it. It has been deployed in the country’s security since 2002. Agni Prime will replace this missile in future.

Agni-2… It is also a medium-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile. whose range is 2000 to 3500 km. It can also attack the target with conventional or nuclear weapons. It has been protecting the country since 2010.

Agni 3… The range of this missile is 3 to 5 thousand kilometers. This means that the range can be increased or decreased by increasing or decreasing the weight of the weapon. A large part of China, the whole of Pakistan, the whole of Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa, Arab countries, Indonesia, Myanmar and many other countries are in this circle. Its speed is 18,522 km per hour.

Agni 4… Its weight is 17 thousand kg. It can carry three types of weapons. This includes conventional, thermobaric and strategic nuclear weapons. Its range is 3500 to 4000 km. It can fly straight up to a maximum height of 900 km.
