In this day and age, everyone needs to be protected from online fraud and crime. Online money fraud is common but many innocent boys and girls fall into trouble. A similar incident is unfolding. In it, a girl trusts an online friend and runs to a hotel to meet him. Then what happened to him there was soul-shattering. The girl then somehow managed to send her location to her parents. Then after about 20 days the police reached there and managed to rescue the girl.
Actually this incident happened in Hyderabad. The 18-year-old girl was freed by She Tams, a branch of the police here. An engineering student kept the girl locked in a hotel room here for 20 days. An engineering student allegedly befriended the student through social media.
Sources said the girl was recovered on Saturday and the 19-year-old accused was arrested. According to sources, a case has been registered against him at the Narayan Gowda police station under the relevant provisions of the Indian Judicial Code (JC).
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cybercrime and Women Safety-Hyderabad) D Kavita said that the parents of the student, a resident of Bhinsa Town, lodged a complaint with She Times Hyderabad that their daughter called them and said that I was being harassed on social media by an online friend.
According to the police, the victim said that the accused forced her to come to Hyderabad by threatening her and kept her locked in a hotel room for 20 days. He informed his parents about his current location through an instant messaging app.
Police said that ‘those teams’ found the girl in a locked hotel room in Narayangowda, rescued her and handed her over to her parents. After that, the accused was also arrested. The ‘She Team’ is a branch of the Telangana Police, tasked with cracking down on molestation and providing protection to women and girls.
