UPSC Success Story, IAS Story: Belonging to a poor family, Vishal’s father died when he was a child. When Vishal was in ninth standard, he lost his father. His father worked as a laborer, due to which the family got two meals a day. After his death, the financial condition of the house became very bad. In such a situation, the responsibility of taking care of the family fell on the shoulders of the mother. Mother reared goats and buffaloes for the family and somehow met the family expenses.

The Guru sided with Vishal.
Vishal was the eldest of three siblings. Vishal’s father wanted his son not to live the life of a laborer or laborer like him, so he wanted to educate him and make him a great man. Due to financial constraints and lack of a good education system here, Vishal felt that he would not be able to fulfill his father’s dream, but he got the support of his Guru Gauri Shankar Prasad. He helped Vishal in his studies and also provided financial support. Gauri Shankar also paid Vishal’s fees.

Topped in Intermediate.
Seeing the condition of his family and mother, Vishal decided to study it with full dedication. So in the 2011 intermediate exam, Vishal topped the district and became the district topper. He then thought of pursuing a career in the field of engineering and started preparing for the IIT-JEE exam. For this he joined Abhiyanand’s Super 30 coaching in Patna. Let us tell you that the Super 30 coaching center was started by Anand Kumar and former Bihar DGP Abhayanand, after which Abhayanand opened a separate coaching center in 2007. Vishal studied here and cleared the JEE exam. He cleared IIT entrance with 7000 rank. Admitted to IIT Kanpur in 2013. After completing his course from IIT, he got a good job due to which the financial condition of the family started to improve.

Not interested in job, gave UPSC exam.
Vishal got a job, but after some time he got fed up with the job and joined an institute in Kota as a teacher. From here Vishal changed his mind and started his UPSC preparation by staying in Kota. When Vishal appeared for the UPSC exam for the first time in the year 2020, he cleared the prelims but failed to clear the mains.

The Guru explained the solution
Vishal became depressed after failing the UPSC exam for the first time. He then consulted his guru Gauri Shankar. Guru asked Vishal to quit his job and concentrate fully on UPSC preparation. After a year of preparation, Vishal took the UPSC exam again in 2021. This time he got 484th rank and cleared UPSC.
