Being a child actor in a horror movie is no easy task – but thousands of actors have done it.
“It was a small scene from a horror film shot in 20 days. I’m being honest. I mean, it’s nice that it has fans,” jamie lee curtiswho starred in the original 1978 Halloweentold NME About the now famous movie in October 2018. “I’m not trying to be showy or cute or clever. Even though I try to do that often… it just bothers me because some people feel like it was some premeditated, planned mastermind and that’s just it.
Curtis explained to that director john carpenter “I’ll be the first to tell you” that he had no idea what kind of massive success the film – and its many subsequent sequels – would achieve.
“We were making an exploitation film about the murder of baby sitters. And that was it. Shot in 20 days, shot with nothing. Fast, furious, brutal and whatever it became has really nothing to do with the intent of the work,” she continued. “The intention of the job was to make a film and then, as a young filmmaker, make another film. It then became something that could help you get another job, not something that was going to happen.
