Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY is the world’s largest health insurance scheme. It aims to provide health insurance worth Rs 5 lakh per annum to more than 12 crore poor families (about 55 crore beneficiaries). The Council also approved the implementation of the Common Support Mission (CSM) for States. The objective of the CSM is to improve and strengthen the ESI medical service delivery system in the states with a focus on the insured person.
Approval to start awareness camp
Additionally, the Council approved the initiation of annual preventive health check-ups and awareness camps for the beneficiaries, on early detection of lifestyle disorders and malnutrition among insured persons/women/transgenders.
