The host of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is Pakistan, but the question of when and where this tournament will be held is yet to be answered, while less than 100 days are left for the start of the event.

These questions arose when the Indian Cricket Board informed the ICC shortly before the tournament schedule was announced that they would not be sending their team to Pakistan as they had not received permission from the government to do so.

The ICC informed the Pakistan Cricket Board about this, after which the PCB wrote a letter to the ICC asking the Indian Cricket Board to provide reasons in writing for not sending the team.

After which it is now reported that the Indian Cricket Board is going to write a reply to the ICC soon in which it will inform the reasons.

According to a report by Indian website Da Sports, BCCI’s response will prominently mention security concerns of the Indian team in Pakistan.

According to SportsTak, “Although Indian players may get a lot of love from the Pakistani public, there is always a threat of terrorist attacks on the Indian team.”

According to the report, the BCCI is likely to send a document to the ICC along with the reply, in which the BCCI will also mention the incidents of terrorism in Pakistan during the last 12 months. .’

Earlier, there were reports regarding the Champions Trophy that India would like to hold its matches in the United Arab Emirates, i.e. a hybrid model, as has been done in the Asia Cup before.

But the Pakistan Cricket Board is currently not considering any such proposal and has clearly said that the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan.

On the other hand, the Indian website Sports Tak has said in its report that the responsibility of finding a solution to this problem lies with the ICC, which has three possible ways.

The PCB should be persuaded to accept BCCI’s hybrid model proposal. Under this model, five of the 15 matches of the tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates.

The tournament can be completely shifted to another country but it is possible that due to this process Pakistan will not participate in the tournament.

The Champions Trophy should be postponed indefinitely but this decision will cause financial loss to both ICC and PCB.
