Patna. After the defeat of the opposition Grand Alliance in the by-elections to four assembly seats in Bihar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday claimed that the alliance will win the next assembly elections in the state. Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Yadav expressed happiness over his party’s better-than-expected performance in the neighboring state of Jharkhand. In the 2019 elections in Jharkhand, RJD won only Chitra seat, but this time it won Deoghar, Gowda, Bashrampur and Hussainabad seats. In Bihar, the NDA has won the by-elections in all four assembly constituencies. In this, the NDA has retained the Imamganj seat while Tarari, Ramgarh and Belaganj have been wrested from the ‘Grand Alliance’.

Talking to reporters in Patna, Yadav said, ‘Losing a few seats is not a big deal. We won these assembly constituencies in the recent Lok Sabha elections. We will perform better in 2025 assembly elections and grand alliance will form the next government in Bihar. Wins and losses are part of elections… we are not disappointed at all… we fought elections unitedly.

Hemant Soren shot an arrow in Jharkhand before the election, BJP could not cut it, all four were defeated.

The RJD failed to retain its grip on the Belaganj and Ramgarh seats, while the party candidate also faced defeat in the Imamganj seat. The RJD leader said, ‘We have won four assembly seats in Jharkhand. The Grand Alliance led by Hemant Soren won the Jharkhand Assembly elections by a huge margin. We are once again forming the government in Jharkhand. After Jharkhand, the Grand Alliance government will form in Bihar in 2025.

Kanakki seat was SP’s bastion, BJP won after 31 years, due to which SP’s bail was forfeited.

When asked why the RJD lost in Bihar, he said, “We have won the Lok Sabha elections in these places but the party will review the defeat.” There is nothing to despair about. There are wins and losses in elections but it is good that we got a chance to prepare. One thing I can say for sure is that our government has been formed in Jharkhand and now in Bihar also we will be formed in 2025.
