New Delhi: A deep depression forming over south-west Bay of Bengal intensified into a cyclonic storm on Friday afternoon. According to the IMD, the cyclone will make landfall between North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry on November 30. At the time of landfall, winds can reach 90 km per hour. After that, the storm will weaken.

The storm will reach Tamil Nadu today.

According to the IMD, the deep depression turned into a cyclonic storm at 2.30 pm. It is likely to approach the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast on November 30 afternoon. Meanwhile, the flood in the sea has increased. In Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, the sea has turned dangerous. Cyclone Fungal is causing high waves in the sea and high waves are being seen in the coastal areas.

According to the IMD, the cyclone may make landfall in Mahabalipuram and its surrounding areas by Saturday afternoon. A landfall may occur near Puducherry between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram. At the time of landfall, the wind speed can be 70 to 80 km per hour while gusts can reach up to 90 km per hour. According to scientists, it may weaken and turn into a deep depression as it hits the coast.
