New Delhi: Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant said on Thursday that no MLA from the party will be a part of the new party. BJP led grand alliance government If Eknath Shinde did not take oath of office Deputy Chief Minister,
Samant said, “If Eknath Shinde does not accept the post of Deputy CM, then no Shiv Sena MLA will accept any responsibility in the government.”
“We have made it clear to Shinde that he will have to become the deputy chief minister in the new government,” he said.
Earlier today, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut had also warned of cracks in the Mahayuti government, which he said would “start becoming visible from tomorrow.”
“Devendra Fadnavis will be the CM of the state from today. He has the majority but despite this, he was unable to form the government for 15 days – it means there is something wrong within his party or Mahayuti. This issue will start becoming visible from tomorrow. ,” he said.
This comes a day after the outgoing CM showed reluctance on the question of taking oath as deputy CM with Ajit Pawar.
When reporters asked Eknath Shinde whether he would take oath as deputy chief minister along with Ajit Pawar in the Mahayuti 2.0 government, the Shiv Sena leader replied, “Wait till the evening….” However, Ajit Pawar immediately intervened and confirmed that he would definitely take oath along with Fadnavis.
After Devendra Fadnavis was unanimously elected by BJP leaders for the top post in Maharashtra, Samant had said that “All party workers feel that their leader should be in the top post. We are not unhappy. In fact, we Congratulating Fadnavis.”
Meanwhile, Fadnavis will be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Thursday evening at a ceremony which will also be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Fadnavis will take oath along with two deputy chief ministers, BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar confirmed earlier in the day.
