Rain or Shine continued its winning streak against weaker opponents after defeating Blackwater 122-106 on Wednesday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Adrian Nocum dropped 18 of his 22 points in the second half and emerged as one of the key figures in the Elasto Painters’ fifth consecutive win since relinquishing his starting assignment in midseason conference play.

It was the third consecutive game that Rain or Shine faced a team below .500, and defeated Magnolia and Terrafirma before the holiday break.
Import Deon Thompson top-scored with 25 points along with 16 rebounds and four assists for Rain or Shine.

Santi Santillan added 20 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Anton Asistio had 18 points, four rebounds and seven assists after being given the starting role by coach Yang Guo.

The Elasto Painters raced out to a 23-point lead late in the first quarter before holding off a fierce scoring rally launched by Nocum, whose baskets came mostly off transition play.
Blackwater went 1-6, ending another big scoring night from import George King, who finished with 35 points.
Rey Suerte’s three brought Bossing within seven, 66–59, with barely eight minutes left in the third.
But Rain or Shine didn’t falter and restored their double-digit lead before the end of the period, while Nokum trailed by nine points.
