At the National Games 2025, the much awaited athletics event will take the center phase from 8 to 12 February at Ganga Athletics Ground, MPSC. The competition is expected to attract some of the best tracks and field athletes across the country.
While some of India’s biggest names, including the Olympic gold medalist, Neeraj Chopra, have opted to focus on their international commitments, the tournament still claims an impressive lineup.
Many experienced athletes, as well as promising young talents, must be looking to leave their mark. With the national record of stakes and pride on the line, athletics phenomena promise high-spill action.

#3 Parul Chaudhary
Arjun Puruskari Parul Chaudhary will compete in his third National Games. An expert in 3000 meter steepleches and 5000 meters of events, she has been one of India’s most prominent long -range runners in recent years.
She won gold in the 2022 National Games and would be eager to add another to her tally. Chaudhary has several national records, including 9: 15.31 in 3000 meter steeple, 15: 10.35 in 5000 meters and 8: 57.19 in 3000 meters. After competing in the Paris Olympics 2024, it will aim to claim top podium.
#2 Amiya Malik
Amiya Malik, an experienced runner, is ready to appear in its fourth National Games. He once held a national record at 100 meter sprint with a time of 10.26 seconds, achieved at the 2016 Federation Cup in New Delhi.
In the upcoming tournament, he will compete in the 4×100 meter relay for Odisha. His most recent performance in the event came to Bangalore in the 63rd National Open Athletics Championship 2024, where his team won gold with a time of 39.65 seconds. Malik will be looking to repeat that performance and help his team another podium finish.
#1 Sribani Nanda
A Commonwealth and Asian Championship bronze medalist Sribani Nanda will also be a prominent contender. This will be his fourth national sports appearance, and he remains a strong force in the 200 meter event.
With a personal best of 23.07 seconds in 2016, Nanda has been one of the most consistent sprinters in India over the years. He recently won silver in the 63rd National Open Athletics Championships 2024 with a time of 23.83 seconds in 200 meters. His experience and competitive lead is expecting a strong medal in the upcoming tournament.
