Due to the sit -in of the dismissed employees of Pakistan Steel Mills near the Bin Qasim Railway Station in Karachi, the country’s largest city has been disconnected through other parts of the country through the railway on Monday afternoon.

Demonstrators are sitting on the railway track, which has led to the transport of trains from Karachi for the past eight hours.

Demonstrators demand that six thousand employees removed from Pakistan Steel Mills be restored, while electricity and gas supply should be restored immediately in Steel Town.

DCO Railway Karachi Shema Ghani said that the demonstration started at 12:30 pm, after which several trains from Karachi, such as Millat Express, Green Line, Karachi Express and Shah Hussain Express were stopped on the Down track, while Iqbal Express and Iqbal Express were also affected.

On this situation, Federal Minister for Railways Mohammad Hanif Abbasi telephoned Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and said that he should help remove the protesters from the track so that the train operation could be restored.

The federal minister said that “the train operation has been completely suspended for the past eight hours due to the protest, which has not only affected the system but also facing severe problems for the passengers.”

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has assured that he will talk to the protesters and try to find a peaceful solution to the problem and provide full support for clearing the railway track soon.
