Islamabad:

Opposition Leader Omar Ayub in the National Assembly filed a contempt of court petition for Imran Khan for not meeting lawyers and party leaders.

In a petition filed in the High Court, Secretary Home, Home Secretary Punjab and Superintendent Adiala Jail have been made parties.

The petition filed by PTI leader Shoaib Advocate and other lawyers has taken a stand that as a representative of the opposition leader and the country’s major political party, he needs consultation with the founder PTI on legal and party issues.

The petition states that the court ordered the creation of SOPs for the meetings on November 22, 2024, but despite the execution of the court orders, meetings are not allowed.

The petition further states that this process is a clear violation of judicial orders and that contempt of court should be prosecuted.

The court is urging to ensure implementation of its orders and allow the founder PTI to meet lawyers and party leaders.
