In a statement issued by the US Embassy in Islamabad on Wednesday, Eric Meyer said that “President Trump has made it clear that securing diverse and reliable sources of this content (Pakistani minerals) is a strategic priority.”
Eric Meyer, senior official of the US Department of State’s South and Central Asian Affairs Bureau, visited Islamabad on April 8 and 9 to enhance US interests in Pakistan’s major mineral sectors, enhance US business opportunities in Pakistan, and to cooperate with the two countries.

On the margin of the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum, Eric Mayor showed US interest in investing in Pakistan’s minerals sector.
“Important minerals are essential raw materials for our latest technologies,” said Eric Meyer, a senior bureau.
The United States is working with international partners and Pakistani stakeholders to find opportunities for investment, technical cooperation and responsible resources management in the mineral sector, he said.
