Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari approved the award of Hilal Imtiaz to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Ali Haider Gilani.
In a statement from the President’s House, it was said that President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the award of Hilal Imtiaz to Ali Haider Gilani on the advice of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari had approved civil awards for 104 Pakistani and foreign personalities in recognition of their services to Pakistan on the occasion of 78th Independence Day.
After the approval of the President, civil awards will be given to all the above persons in a ceremony on March 23, 2025, science, engineering, education, medicine, arts, literature, sports, social services, philanthropy, entrepreneurs, taxpayers and exporters. These awards will be given in the fields of public service, bravery and service.
Former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed will be awarded Nishan of Pakistan in the field of public service, Hilal Imtiaz to Arshad Nadeem in the field of sports, Star of Distinction to Murad Sadpara and Nishan Imtiaz to Nasir Kazmi in the field of literature posthumously.
