Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has suddenly announced his retirement from international cricket after the third Test match against Australia on Wednesday.

Ashwin took a few moments before Rohit Sharma’s press conference after the third match of the ongoing Test series against Australia and left after announcing his retirement.

Goodbye to international cricket Ashwin said, ‘This is my last day as an Indian cricketer in every format at the international level.’

He said that ‘I think I still have some cricket left in me but I will now show it in club level cricket.’

38-year-old Ashwin, who started his career for India against West Indies in 2011, Ravichandran Ashwin has taken 537 wickets in 106 Test matches.

Apart from this, he represented India in 116 ODIs and took 165 wickets, while he managed to take 72 wickets in 65 T20I matches.

Ravichandran Ashwin was part of the Indian team that won the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
