Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari said on the occasion of his meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk that there is a need to increase relations between Pakistan and Russia and consider barter trade.

During the meeting, President Asif Ali Zardari said that there is a need to increase relations between Pakistan and Russia, consider barter trade, and increase relations between the people and businesses of both countries.
He said that Pakistan-Russia connectivity could be increased by relaxing visa rules, railways and direct flights.
According to the announcement of the President’s House, the meeting also discussed increasing bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture and it was said that there are wide possibilities of starting joint projects between Pakistan and Russia in the field of agriculture.
The statement said that a 75-member trade delegation of Pakistan will visit Russia in October to increase trade and economic cooperation.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk said that Russia wants to improve cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of food security, science and technology, education, communications and railways.
