Qazi Nizamuddin
The Congress on Sunday appointed Qazi Nizamuddin as the in-charge of the Delhi unit of the Congress in place of Deepak Babria. Congress president Mallikarjan Kharge has also formed a screening committee for the assembly elections in Delhi which will be chaired by S. Meenakshi Natarajan while Imran Masood and Pradeep Narwal have been made members of this committee.
Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Nizamuddin in-charge of the Delhi unit of the Congress with immediate effect. The Delhi Assembly elections are expected to be held in February next year.
Composition of Screening Committee
Issuing a press release, the Congress said that National President Mallikarjan Kharge has appointed Qazi Muhammad Nizamuddin as AICC in-charge of Delhi with immediate effect. At the same time, the party also appreciated the cooperation of Delhi General Secretary in-charge Deepak Babria. The Congress president has also constituted a screening committee for the assembly elections in Delhi with immediate effect. Congress has appointed Meenakshi Natarajan as Chairperson, Imran Masood and Pradeep Narwal as Screening Committee members for Delhi.
Who is Qazi Nizamuddin?
Qazi Nizamuddin is a senior Congress leader. He is also MLA from Mangalore assembly seat of Uttarakhand. His father Qazi Muhammad Mohiuddin was also the first pro-tem president of Uttarakhand. Qazi Nizamuddin has worked as Congress in-charge and co-in-charge in several states. He was made media coordinator in Kashmir. Apart from this, he has also served as the co-in-charge of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee. The Congress has now given a major responsibility to Qazi Nizamuddin in Delhi.
