FADA report

The month of November has recorded an increase in sales of two-wheelers. Compared to the previous year, the sales have increased by 11.21% this year. According to data released by Automobile Dealers Association FADA, 32,08,719 units were sold in November, which is higher than the total sales of 28,85,317 units in November last year. 26,15,953 units of two-wheelers were sold in the month of October, which is more than the sales in November last year. Due to the wedding season, two-wheelers bought heavily last month, which has led to huge profits for the dealers.

Apart from this, on the one hand, the demand for two-wheelers has increased. On the other hand, the demand for PV i.e. passenger vehicles has decreased. According to the FADA report, PV retail sales declined by 13.72% in November this year. Where 3,73,140 units of PV were sold in November last year. This year it has come down to 3,21,943. The demand for vehicles in the PV segment is continuously declining. Every year in November, dealers expect more sales and sales do happen. But this time the PV dealers have disappointed the consumers.

Sales at weddings are lower than expected – FADA chief

On the drop in sales of passenger vehicles like cars and SUVs in November, FADA president CS Vigneshwar said, “We expected November Car sales will be high. He said that two-wheelers are bought in villages but very few people buy them for weddings. The FADA chief said that due to Diwali falling at the end of October this time, there is a drop in car sales in November.

Demand for commercial vehicles declined

The month of November saw a lot of sales of PV segment vehicles. Along with this, the demand for commercial vehicles has also decreased. Retail sales of commercial vehicles declined 6.08 percent to 81,967 units in November as against 87,272 units in November 2023, according to FADA. At the same time, three-wheeler sales rose 4.23 percent to 1,08,337 units from 1,03,939 units in the same month a year ago. According to dealers, the market has had a mixed trend so far in the month of December.
