Trudeau damaged relations: Verma
Sanjay Verma has blamed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for the deterioration in India-Canada relations. He said that Trudeau destroyed bilateral relations with his policies and wrong actions. He leveled accusations against India which eroded mutual trust and created mistrust in the relationship.
Sanjay Verma gave this interview just before he returned to India on Sunday in which he launched a scathing attack on the Trudeau government. India has recalled six of its diplomats, including Verma, after the Canadian government filed fresh charges in the Hardeep Singh Nanjar murder case and pointed out the role of Indian diplomats in it. He is returning to India on Sunday night.
Canadian government is politicizing allegations: Verma
Last year, Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Najjar was shot dead in Surrey, Canada. Canada has accused India of involvement in the massacre. India has strongly objected to it. Both countries are facing each other on this issue. The situation worsened in recent days when the Canadian government named Sanjay Verma and other diplomats in it.
India’s High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Verma, is India’s senior diplomat. Before returning from Canada, Verma said it was strange to associate his name with the killing of Hardeep Singh Nanjar. There is no point in it, all these accusations are for domestic politics. He said that if Canada has evidence, it should be presented. Whatever the Canadian government is doing is only for political gain.
