New Delhi. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who defected from Sharad Pawar’s party and became part of the Eknath Shinde government in Maharashtra, has been making statements one after the other, due to which the state’s politics have heated up. Earlier, he had condemned his decision to field his wife Sunitra against cousin Supriya Saleh in the Lok Sabha polls. He is now advocating an all-party meeting with uncle Sharad Pawar on the issue of Maratha reservation.

During his ‘Jan Saman Yatra’, Ajit Pawar told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that opposition parties cannot be ignored as they too represent the people. “Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange wants quota under Other Backward Classes (OBC). Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called an all-party meeting to discuss the quota issue but the opposition stayed away. I don’t know if the boycott will work.” It was loaded.

Support of Chief Minister Ladli Bahan Yojana…
Appreciating the ‘Mukhya Mantri Ladli Bihan Yojana’, Pawar said it will be launched on August 17 at a program in Balewadi and its beneficiaries will get money for July and August. Under this scheme, women will get assistance of Rs 1500 per month provided their annual family income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh. Chief Minister Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will also participate in the launch program of this scheme.

There will be no burden on the public exchequer.
Criticizing the opposition for calling it an election gimmick to burden the government exchequer, Ajit Pawar said he has presented 10 budgets and knows about finances. On the issue of resource mobilisation, Ajit Pawar said Maharashtra’s share of the country’s GST collection is 16 per cent, of which 50 per cent goes back to the state.
