Celine Boutier defeated home star Ziyu Lin to win her first Aramco Team Series event in Shenzhen.
Boutier and Lynn went into the final round level pegging, but the French golfer’s bogey-free seven under gave him the victory by two shots.
It is the first title for Boutier in 2024 and comes ahead of the LPGA swing to Asia, with four events over the next four weeks, starting with LPGA Shanghai – to depend upon sky sports golf From 6 am on Thursday.
“It was a great round and fun to compete in. I’m very happy with my round,” Boutier said.
“I wanted to drop some putts but I’m happy with the way I handled it today. It was close all day. You definitely had to stay on your toes until the end and I was very happy with the last two holes .
“I played solid from start to finish and felt confident the last two days.”
Lin got off to a great start in the final round with three consecutive birdies to finish two shots ahead of Boutier, who birdied the second round with a superb approach shot to the green.
The pair shared one birdie each on the next three holes, before Boutier took a one-shot lead heading into the final nine with a hat-trick of birdies on the seventh, eighth and ninth holes.
A bogey on the 15th hole proved costly for Lynn as it gave Boutier some breathing room and the 30-year-old held on to win for the sixth time on the Ladies European Tour.
On Saturday, Team Tamburlini took a one-stroke victory in the team event as Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini, South Africa’s Leigh-Anne Paes, China’s Qianhui Lin and amateur Yanxuan Peng won.
