India’s popular player Yuvraj Singh turned 43 today (Thursday, December 12). This great all-rounder receives immense praise due to his record-breaking performances on the field.
Yuvraj was a gun fielder and performed well with both bat and bowling during his career. The Punjab-born player is a two-time World Cup winning player (T20 in 2007 and ODI in 2011).
The southpaw won the Player of the Tournament award at the 2011 World Cup while battling cancer and became an inspiration to many. He was the first player to hit six sixes in the T20 World Cup (Stuart Broad against England in 2007).
On the special occasion, Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh wished Yuvraj in her birthday wish, praising him for breaking ‘limits’, pushing ‘limits’ and writing ‘history’.
Rakul Preet Singh wrote on Instagram:

Yuvraj Singh enjoyed a successful international career, scoring over 10,000 runs and taking 150 wickets across all formats. He has also scored 4,857 runs in 231 T20Is, and has won two IPL trophies with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.

In a recent interview, Yuvraj Singh revealed that he had to wear women’s slippers during the 2008 Down Under tour due to the antics of a Bollywood actress. He told the Club Prairie Fire Podcast (via ABP):
“She was shooting in Adelaide. I told him, listen, let’s not meet for a while because I am on tour in Australia and need to concentrate. She followed me on the bus to Canberra. I did not get many runs in the two test matches. And I said, ‘What are you doing here?’ And she was like, ‘I want to spend time with you.’
He continued:
“I told him you need to focus on your career and I need to focus on my career because I’m on tour in Australia and you know what that means. Anyway, we left from Canberra for Adelaide “And he packed my suitcase.”
“In the morning, I was like, ‘Where are my shoes?’ ‘I packed them,’ he said. I asked, ‘How will I get on the bus?’ And he said, ‘Wear mine.’ She had these pink slip-ons and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I had to wear those pink slip-ons and I was carrying my bag in front of my shoes to hide them, and people noticed it, and they clapped for me at the airport until I bought flips. Had to wear pink slip-ons – flops there.
Yuvraj Singh was recently named as the ICC global brand ambassador for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
