Class 12 student caught for writing against CM Mamata, arrested by Kolkata Police. Trending Global News

Kolkata. Kolkata Police on Sunday arrested a Class 12 student for posting provocative, objectionable remarks and death threats against West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee on her social media handle. He was taken into custody. The incident took place after the rape and murder of a PG trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital. A section of social media users, including TMC leaders, expressed concern over the Instagram post. In which Indira Gandhi was also mentioned. These people requested the police to take action.

A Kolkata Police statement said that a complaint was received that the accused student had uploaded three Instagram stories related to the recent incident at RG Kar Hospital. In which the photo and identity of the victim was revealed, which is a crime. Apart from this, the accused also shared two stories against the Chief Minister of West Bengal. In which objectionable comments and death threats were made. These posts were provocative and could at any time create social unrest and promote hatred among the community.

It was told that the accused Kirti studies in 12th standard. Her family told the media that the girl had made a mistake. He made this mistake because of emotions. He found out about it later, we apologize. The arrested girl will be produced in court on Monday. His family and the entire neighborhood are in shock. A neighbor told News18, ‘He is a child, he did it without understanding. It was a mistake. They are sad about it. We hope the girl will be released soon. The family is seeking legal advice for bail. Other neighbors said, ‘They are good people, we hope the girl gets bail.’
