In a game filled with inter-producers named Connor, it was Vinypeg’s Kiel Conner which proved to be a hero.
The leading scorer of the jets made its second overtime winner of the season as Winnipag won 4-3 on the Edmonton Squad on Thursday night, remembering the Leon Dresatel for the first time for all seasons and lost Conner McDwid to hurt late in the second round.
Brandon Tenav’s first goal since the trading deadline deal gave the jets a one-grass lead in the final frame. The olers tied it to the final six-minute regulation, but Jets still scored two points with overtime win, which to end the line of three-marks winning of Olers.
Jets were out of 24–20 and could put only five shots on the goal in a short period.
“It was slightly dirty,” said Jets’ head coach Scott Arnil. “I think both teams finished the dumplings, but at the end of the day, in the last game of the road trip, we did what we had to do. We got the lead. In fact we would like to see that lock, but obviously a big goal in overtime.”
Coal Perfety and Josh Morrisi also scored for Vennipag in victory.
Jets reached a 100 -digit mark for the third time in the history of franchise with victory. He did it in his 70th game, which is the fastest that they have reached the mark that has reached even after doing 2017-2018 and 2023-2024.
Jets were 0 -for -4 on Power Play and 5 -on -3 failed on the occasion. Vinypeg is now 0 -for -9 in his last four matches with Man Advantage and it is becoming an area of concern.
“I felt that we have a couple, but overall, we were dirty,” Connor said. “This is something that we feel proud of being able to shut down a game. Do not score 5-on-3-that. We do not score a real late-that. Yes, I know that the results are not everything, you want to gain momentum, but at this certain time, it is the target at time.
“Like our team’s game, we continue to be inspired and not satisfied and improve.”

Over five minutes in the initial period, the oileers climbed the board first. After a turnover in the neutral region, Jeff Skinner assembled the puck, skating in the area of jets and defeated Connor Helbuke on his right shoulder with a hard rester.

He entered Edmonton Zone and left Mark Sheffifel Mark, who then left it for Connor, before the sniper snatched one through a picard to finish the game.
This Lakshya was the 37th season as well as the regular season overtime goals of his 12th career.
Hellbuke made 20 savings to win, while Picard was saddened with disadvantages, causing three savings in just six minutes of action.
