Ensuring the safety of passengers as well as its assets is no less a challenge for Indian Railways. Railways is constantly taking measures to protect the safety of lakhs of passengers. The security system is also upgraded from time to time. Thousands of Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel are deployed round-the-clock to protect passengers. However, many times such incidents come to the fore which shake not only the security personnel but also the common passengers. Once again such a case has come up. A passenger was beaten to death in South Super Fast Express train coming from Hyderabad to Delhi.
According to information, when the Dakshin Express coming from Hyderabad to Delhi was in full speed, a major incident took place in the moving train. A young man was beaten to death by some people while sleeping near the toilet. Due to which sensation spread throughout Bogie. The GRP said the incident took place on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Some people stole the victim’s money. When he protested against it, the accused started beating the youth brutally. The victim is said to have been beaten so badly that she vomited blood. Due to which the young man’s friends were also scared. According to the GRP officials, the killing took place when the train was passing through Telangana state.

GRP arrested 4 accused
The incident took place on the morning of January 2 in Telangana and later when the train reached Nagpur in Maharashtra, the GRP detained 4 people. The deceased has been identified as Shashank Ram Singh Raj, a resident of Rajapur Kemhara, Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, officials said. He was going to Jhansi from Secunderabad. Raj and his friends were sleeping near the toilet in the general compartment of the train when four people allegedly stole Rs 1,700 from their pockets around 3.30 am, a GRP official said. The accused thieves stole the mobile phone of another passenger and he woke up and took away the mobile phone from him. The GRP official said that Raj later learned that the money he had with him was missing. He then confronted the thieves and demanded they return it. They said that after this, an altercation broke out and the robbers brutally kicked and punched Raj and also assaulted other passengers.
Vomiting blood… and death
After the fight, Raj vomited blood and became unconscious, the GRP officer said. The train reached Nagpur station at 9.15 am, after which railway doctors examined him and declared him brought dead, he said. Two of the accused were caught by passengers, while two hid in the train. The GRP in Nagpur later arrested four accused, identified as Muhammad Fayaz Muhammad Hashimuddin (19), Syed Sameer Syed Jamal (18), M Shyam Koteswar Rao (21) and Muhammad Imam Muhammad Akbar (19). has been done as All of them are residents of Hyderabad. The Railway Police here registered an FIR against the accused for murder and later transferred the case to the GRP in Mancherial, Telangana, the GRP said.
