Twenty-year-old Aldrich Potgiator fired 10-under-legs 61 during the Mexico Open Second Round Play on Friday to open four-shot benefits at Vallarta, Mexico, Mexico, Mexico.
According to the tour, the potgiator becomes the fourth youngest player to shoot 61 or better in a PGA tour event. Only Patrick Cantley, Nick Dunlop and Tom Kim of South Korea have defeated him.
Potugator, who won the prestigious amateur championship in the United Kingdom as 17 -year -old, is no stranger for uncertain achievements. His card consisted of 11 Birds and seven pars on Friday, pushing him to 16-under 126 for the week.
Germany’s Stephen Jagger, along with Brian Campbell (65), fired 64 at 12 noon to tie. England’s Aaron Rai, the highest ranked player (No. 29) in the ground, also gave a 64 card to stake in fourth place in 11 under 11.
Ben Griffin (65), Akshay Bhatia (66) and Isaiah Salinda (67) are under 10.
Three players shared the first round lead, and none of them performed well on Friday. Jeremy Paul of Germany shot 70 for the tournament to go below 8. Norway’s Chris Ventura (71) remained under 7 and the British fell under Harry Hall (72) 6.
Blades Brown, a 17 -year -old, who changed the supporter in December, made his first cut as a professional (5 under). Defending champion Jake Kannap struggled on 72 Friday and cut 3 under -under.
Notable names to remember the cut include Kha Lee (2 under) of South Korea, Charlie Hoffman (1 under), Kurt Kitayama (1 under) and Padrig Harrington (1 over) of Ireland.
