Team Falcons and Crazy Raccoon recorded sweeps on Saturday to advance to the upper bracket final of the Overwatch Champions Series 2024 Finals in Stockholm.
Team Falcons recorded a 3-0 decision over NTMR after registering a 2-0 win over Ilios, a 2-1 win over Shambly Math, and a 3-2 win over Kings Row.
Courtesy of a 2–0 win over Elios, a 5–1 win over Hanaoka, and a 3–2 win over Kings Row, the Crazy Raccoons defeated the Toronto Defiant with the same final score.
The Toronto Defiant bounced back from the setback and defeated both Twisted Minds and NRG Shock to advance to the lower-bracket finals.
Eight teams, formatted in a double-elimination bracket, qualified for the championship event. After Friday’s opening quarterfinal matches are best-of-three, the remaining matches of the tournament will be best-of-five until Sunday’s best-of-seven grand final.
The prize pool is TBD, as it is being crowdfunded by a quarter of the revenue from in-game cosmetic purchases.
On Saturday, the Toronto Defiant recorded a 3-2 win over Twisted Minds. The Defiant recorded a 2-1 win over Ilios, a 1-0 win over Watchpoint: Gibraltar, and a 3-1 win over New Junk City, topping out Twisted Minds, who won 4-3 over Kings Row. Recorded and won by 128.2m-128.19. On Runasapi.
The Defiant had a much easier time against the NRG Shock, taking a 3-0 lead after a 2-1 win over Ilios and 3-1 wins over both Survasa and Shambly Monastery.
NRG Shock advanced to that match by defeating NTMR courtesy of a 2-1 win over Oasis, a 1-0 win over Circuit Royal, and a 3-1 win over New Junk City.
