New Delhi: Delhi Court dismissed on wednesday Bail plea one of SUV Driver and four Basement Co-Owner was arrested in connection with Death of three UPSC Aspirants among those who drowned Coaching Centre in the national capital.
Judicial Magistrate Vinod Kumar of Tis Hazari Court rejected the bail plea of ​​driver Manuj Kathuria and basement owners Tejinder Singh, Parvinder Singh, Harvinder Singh and Sarabjit Singh.
“All bail pleas are dismissed,” the judge said, according to news agency PTI.
“It seems your officers feel there is no need to follow orders. Only one person from the MCD has gone to jail. Delhi Police Arrested “There was a person driving a car. What is the police doing?” the court said, according to Live Law.
The court also sought response of the investigating officer on a plea seeking direction to declare the arrest of Manuj Kathuria illegal and listed the matter for August 7.
Kathuria is accused of driving his Force Gurkha car on a road that was filled with rainwater, causing the water to rise and break the gates of the three-storey building and flood the basement. Four co-owners have been charged with abetting the crime. All five accused were arrested on Monday.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court had criticised authorities over the deaths of civil services aspirants and blamed such tragedies on a “culture of freebies” that leads to inadequate tax collection and insufficient infrastructure.
The court commented on the ongoing investigation, highlighting police action against a passerby while noting no action against MCD officials.
The high court suggested the possibility of involving a central agency to probe the incident and ordered the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) commissioner, the concerned deputy commissioner of police and the investigating officer of the case to appear before it on Friday.
The hearing took place in response to a petition seeking a high-level committee to probe the unfortunate deaths of three civil services aspirants who lost their lives in the basement of a flooded coaching centre in Old Rajinder Nagar on the evening of July 27.
