Next week, “Crypto for Harris” will host a virtual town hall featuring prominent crypto advocates like Mark Cuban and Anthony Scaramucci, as well as several Democratic House members. The event aims to discuss support strategies for the Harris campaign and fundraising efforts. Members of Kamala Harris’ campaign are also expected to attend the upcoming meeting, Fox Business said.
As the presidential race between Harris and Trump tightens, Trump has made significant inroads into the bitcoin and crypto space. He recently keynoted the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, raising hundreds of millions of dollars and promising to create a strategic bitcoin reserve if he is elected president in November. Said “I will make sure that crypto and Bitcoin “It will be made in the United States of America… I will support the right of the country’s 50 million crypto holders to self-preservation.”
“We’re not handing this issue over to Trump,” Democratic US Congressman Willie Nickel told Fox Business. “We want to encourage innovation and protect consumers, but allowing crypto to become a political football will set the US further back.”
Countering Trump’s influence, Harris has added two crypto advisers to her campaign, FOX Business has learned: David Plouffe, who served on Binance’s advisory board, and Gene Sperling, a former Ripple board member.
Kamala Harris’ campaign staff did not return FOX Business’ calls for comment by the time of publication.
