The Indian captain, players and management came under fire for the dressing room medal distribution during the worst defeat to New Zealand during the Women’s T20 World Cup.
Yesterday, New Zealand, played at the Dubai Cricket Stadium, started victoriously by defeating India by 58 runs after a one-sided match. Several catches were dropped by the Indian fielders of the match, while poor fielding was seen.
Jemima Rodrigues was awarded a medal for good fielding to boost the morale of the players in the dressing room after a poor performance and a flop batting show, on which the fans went wild and criticized the team.

Jemima was given the medal by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, the video of which was also released on social media, but fans questioned why a poor performance was being awarded.

After the defeat by the Kiwis by a big margin, the Indian team is in the last position in Group A, while they have to win all the remaining matches to reach the semi-finals.

On the other hand, the Indian team will come against traditional rival Pakistan tomorrow, where Pakistan has secured its position by winning the first match of the event, while also increasing the pressure on India.
