Last week, Breeze Tech announced webassambly (wasm) support for its nodless brrees SDK. They had to re -function several pieces of SDK to do bitcoin and lightening work in the browser, implement new ways to grab blockchain data, handle the database in memory, handle DNS resolution, interact with file systems on various platforms, etc.
Now a lightening competent wallet or application can run perfectly browser.
I am sure that many of you are thinking about immediate safety concerns and thinking, and I would first say that it is crazy to store any content zodiac or a significant percentage of your money in this way, but all parts of the stack should be really useable.
As a real monetary network, the future of bitcoin is not one with one million different apps and devices that you are trying to do or what kind of transactions you are trying to find the right to find the right. You have space for what you are saving, and what you are spending, but too much complexity in terms of interoperability is far for your average person.
Savings can bear some complexity and friction, but when it actually comes to using bitcoin, it needs to be comfortable and embedded everywhere. If bitcoin is going to be the future of money, then it needs to be really comfortable, it should be flexible, it needs feel Like the future.
People want convenience in everything, money is not different. We cannot expect to research your average person on various devices, test various applications and purses and then eventually spend 20 hours to spread our funds in half a dozen apps and hardware pieces.
People need to be able to open any device, any app, and whoever is available to spend bitcoin should be able to access. It will not magically in itself. This requires work. This requires cooperation on standards. It needs to do engineering work that does not make headlines to draw attention.
In case of doing such work, the breeze is completely killing it. Other examples are BDK and LDK from the spiral, integrating libraries or bitcoin and lightening in existing apps to create apps. Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) is another example of standards for interoperability. PSBT standard in BIP 174 by Awa Chow is another. We need this energy and direction so that it can be increased heavyly.
Bitcoin will not succeed in their goal of adoption if people encounter a fragmented landscape of separate -wall gardens, or uncomfortable ways to use different devices together with friction.
Bitcoin must be embedded everywhere, basically, everything.
