New Delhi: In a fresh incident of violence, a mob attacked the office of superintendent of police in Manipur Kangpokpi District on Friday evening. The attack was over the officer’s alleged failure to remove central forces from Saibol village bordering Imphal East district.
News agency PTI reported that several people were injured in the attack.
Kuki groups have protested after the alleged use of force by security personnel against women in Saibol village on December 31.
The protesters threw stones and various objects, expressing their dissatisfaction over the ongoing presence in the office. central forceespecially BSF and CRPFAccording to an official, in the village.
During the incident, several police vehicles parked inside the Superintendent of Police office premises were damaged.
