It will take only three hours to reach Purnia from Muzaffarpur.
With the construction of this four lane, the time taken to travel from Muzaffarpur to Purnia will be halved. Currently, it takes about five hours to cover this distance due to the two-lane road. After completion of four lanes, this distance can be covered in just three hours. The project director said that four-lane work is already underway from Baruni to Purnia. After the completion of the work on this side, a four-lane road will be constructed from Muzaffarpur to Purnia. Passengers will also be able to go to West Bengal through this four lane.
Hence the matter was pending.
Construction of the Muzaffarpur-Outer four lane was approved about eight years ago. But due to budget allocation for DPR and delay in tender process, the matter got stuck. It took more than three years to prepare the DPR and the alignment. It had to be canceled several times due to technical glitches. Now it has finally been approved.
