- The government soon assured to complete the shortage of staff in ASI.
The second phase of the budget session of Parliament was a very uproar. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, MP Chief and Member of Parliament of Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi surrounded the government for the security of vacant posts and historical heritage in the Indian Archaeological Survey (ASI). Owaisi said the country’s historic buildings are in a bad state, but the government is not paying attention to it. He alleged that the ASI has now become a puppet of Hindutva ideology and is not fulfilling its responsibilities properly.
Ouusi expressed concern over the situation in the Taj Mahal and said that ‘there is a leakage of water, cracks in the Taj Mahal’. He also raised the issue of a major staff shortage in ASI and asked why vacant posts were not being filled in such an important department.
Government cleaning, ASI is working
Minister for Tourism Gajinder Singh Shekhawat responded to the allegations of Owaisi. He dismissed the Ovici allegations, saying that the ASI was taking its responsibility seriously and taking care of the historical heritage. He acknowledged that ASI lacked staff, but it would be completed soon. He said that there is a shortage of 8750 posts, of which 3203 posts will be filled under UPSC and SSC.
From the lack of monuments in the Taj Mahal, the cracks – I justify the government for its failure to protect India’s heritage. With 6,516 empty vacancies in ASI, how can they ensure proper protection?pic.twitter.com/kcw2fqg2d
