The camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security is taking place today (Tuesday), under the direction of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in the wake of the growing attacks in the country, especially in the recent attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq convened a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security on Tuesday at 12 noon.
The meeting is being held in the National Assembly Hall, in which the parliamentary leaders of all the political parties in the parliament and their nominated representatives are participating.

At the meeting, the military leadership will brief the parliamentary committee on the security situation in the country.
This important meeting is called in the context of incidents of militant attacks at Jaffar Express, security forces convoy in Noshki, security forces convoy in Noshki and militant attacks at FC check post at Jandula district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have been the most target of extremism in recent times. According to the Global Terrorism Index 2025 report, more than 96 % of the militant attacks and deaths in Pakistan in 2024 occurred in the same two provinces.
The biggest incident of extremist incidents occurred on March 11 in Balochistan when the Jaffar Express from Quetta was attacked by the separatist organization Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in the Dhadar area of Bolan Pass, and more than 400 passengers were taken hostage.
However, the security forces later recovered the passengers in action, while security officials said that all the militants who attacked during the clearance operation were also killed.
Then on March 16, three personnel and two civilians were killed in an attack on a convoy of security forces in Noshki area of Balochistan.
Similarly, on March 13 in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the FC check post was attacked by militants at Jandola, which was foiled by authorities.
