Jamie Foxx breaks silence on mystery illness: I was ‘gone’
In late June 2024, Jamie was with a group of people in Phoenix, Arizona, presumably working out.

This is the first time Jamie has explained what prompted him to go to the hospital. The problem is that after telling him this, he doesn’t remember much.
Explaining that he was “in Atlanta” when he was hospitalized, the Oscar winner shared that his sister and his daughter took him to the “first doctor.”
But that’s all he remembers. In the video, Jamie snaps his fingers and says, “I was gone for 20 days,” while admitting that he “doesn’t remember anything.”
He said when he saw his “next doctor” the doctor told him there was something going on, Jamie said, pointing to his head.
At this point, Jamie realizes that he is being filmed, and he looks towards the person filming and says, “I wouldn’t say it on camera.”
Although the person who shot the footage didn’t manage to get the full story, it’s still likely that we’ll hear it soon.
Jamie Foxx Health Update: What Happened?
On Sunday March 3, Fox made an appearance at the African American Film Critics Association’s 7th Annual AAFCA Special Achievement Awards.
During his time on stage, Fox addressed his time in the hospital and revealed that he intends to present full details of the condition in an upcoming standup special.
“I’m so grateful, and I get emotional because it’s just beyond the scope,” Fox said after urging the crowd to “cherish life” and loved ones.
The actor further added, “There were certain people in my life who really made sure I was here because it was extremely difficult.” People,
“Everyone wants to know what happened and I’ll tell you what happened, but I have to do it my way.”
So while we don’t yet know exactly what happened to Fox, it seems like everything is fine and he plans to tell his story on stage in the near future.
If anyone can put a humorous spin on a tragic situation, it’s Jamie Foxx. We can’t wait!
Jamie’s recovery: was it a heart attack?
Fox previously mentioned his lengthy recovery process during an appearance at the Critics’ Choice Association Awards ceremony in December 2023.
Fox stated at the time that the experience had given her a “new respect for life”.
“I want to thank everyone. I’ve been through some things, I’ve been through some things,” he said Today,
“It’s crazy, I couldn’t do this six months ago. I couldn’t really walk.”
Thankfully, Fox was able to return to work just a few months after leaving the hospital.
The prevailing theory at the time was that Jamie had suffered a massive heart attack, leaving him bedridden for several weeks. But now, looking directly at this new insight from Jamie, it doesn’t seem so.
Whatever happened, he surprised fans by showing up on the set of the appropriately titled film return to actionIn which he stars alongside Cameron Diaz after his recovery.
Soon after, Jamie was seen at his daughter’s wedding, looking happy and healthy.
Eyewitnesses claim that during the filming of his special, Foxx blamed Diddy for his hospitalization, but we’ll have to wait to see the comment in context before saying whether he was joking or not.
