Jasprit Bumrah has been dropped from the Champions Trophy due to a back injury.

The bowler was rapidly hurt during India’s Test series against Australia and missed the ongoing ODI and T20 series against England.

He would recall the Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury, Harshit Rana called his replacement in the squad.

Varun Chakarwarthi has also been added to the squad, in which the spinner has replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal was originally nominated in the provisional squad.

India’s updated squad for ICC Champions Trophy:

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-Qetan), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Exer Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Shami Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakarwarthi.

Non-trimming options: Yashsvi Jaiswal, Mohammad Siraj and Shivam Dubey. The three players will travel to Dubai if necessary.

Bumrah is sure to have a big loss and has been replaced by Harshit Rana in India squad.

The Champions Trophy returns to the first time this month after 2017.

It is hosted in Pakistan, after playing their matches in Dubai with India, saying that they will not visit their neighbors due to political stress.

Pakistan will shut things against New Zealand in Karachi on February 19, with India to face Bangladesh in their opening match at Group A on 20 February.

England are placed in Group B with Australia, South Africa and Afghanistan.

The semi-finals are finalized on March 9 on March 9.
