Promoter Boxxer will hold a protest with the British Boxing Board of Control after Jeamie TKV’s controversial stoppage loss for David Adele.
The TKV was fighting Adeleye for the British Heavyweight title on Saturday at the CO OP Live Arena in Manchester.
In the sixth round, the referee Ron Kerney said the break, so two boxers were instructed to participate in a clinic, and slapped the TKV’s left hand.
Adeleye threw a left hook, which grabbed the exposed chin of TKV towards the later right hand. That shot dropped TKV down.
Instead of stopping the action to look at Edelie to kill on the break, an action in boxing is not allowed, but not necessarily a deliberately dishonestly if Edelie did not listen to the referee, the kerneri released the TKV with just a count and allowed to continue the fight.
TKV was hurt and only defeated the count when Adeleye was again attacked and the TKV was stopped after going down the second time.
The TKV team expressed displeasure in the referee’s work, their promoter Boxxx will protest with the British Boxing Board of Control and the matter will be in the discussion at the board meeting on Wednesday.
Boxxer’s Ben Shalom told Sky sports: “We are protesting with the British Boxing Board of Control for hearing at his board meeting on Wednesday. The decision is to be overturned.”
He said: “Jeamie was under the control of the fight and the intervention of the referee on his way to win the British Heavyweight title gave him the cost of the fight.
“We are confident that the board will take the right decision.”
‘It gets as bad as I see it’
It was not the only piece of referee in the show in Manchester, which caused bottlenecks.
In the third round of Corey O’Regan’s Commonwealth Super Lightweight Title Fight with Jack Refurt, the referee Darren Sarginnson began to break the fighters and pulled down the left glove of O’Regan. The Refety immediately threw a difficult right, which caught the O’Regan Flush and dropped it heavy.
O’Regan fought the fight, but was eventually taken out in the fifth round, his first supporter faced defeat.
Matthew McLin, Manager of O’Regan, told Sky sports: “I have noticed that many times before and the referee pulled his hand down, his left hand which was blocking his left, which then left an inauguration to unload the right hook for the jack reference, which he divides each other after dividing each other.
“This is the shot that changed the fight on his head. Kori was doing boxing well till that point, winning the battle and told me that he was really starting to feel comfortable, looking for his distance etc. etc.
“After that he never really recovered. Even though he probably won the fourth round, he was actually fighting on the autopylot, fighting with heart, fighting on instinct and it was taking his toll over it, so it was an important moment of fighting.
“It’s incompetent,” McLin concluded. “It really gets worse as much as I see it.”
