jussie smollettalways good with Lee Daniels … He said he appreciates the director giving him his big break — and, he wants to keep their relationship private.
We caught up with the embattled actor outside a movie theater in New York City on Friday, the same day “The Lost Holiday” — a project directed by J.S. — got its wide release… And, we had to ask about Daniels’ latest film Comments about him.
Jussi says he’s very much in love with LD… He admitted that he appreciates the opportunity that Lee gave him – his starring role in “Empire” – and, he’s not been public about their relationship. Doesn’t like to talk because it’s very special to him.
Smollett says he doesn’t feel the need to mediate their relationship in the press… though he understands Daniels speaking out publicly on it — he says Lee has always been an outspoken person.

When asked if he and Daniels were good, Smollett replied that they would always be good – no matter what was said.

That said, Daniels revealed that he would cast her again… though it doesn’t seem like they’re working together anytime soon.

his aunt, Vivica A Foxrecently told us that “The Lost Holiday” will be Jussie’s return blow …and, he just had to work on showing people who he was. Looks like he tried to do just that.
As for his relationship with Lee… it may take longer – and, he probably won’t comment on it again.
