Pakistan Airports Authority has said that significant progress has been made regarding the classification of international airports.
Pakistan Airports Authority has issued notification for extension of E4 Aerodrome Reference Code of Karachi Airport.
In the ongoing notification regarding important developments on the classification of Karachi Airport, it has been stated that the classification of Karachi International Airport has been extended to E4 category by three years.
The notification states that the category of Pakistan Airports Authority Jinnah International Airport has been extended to E4 category from September 18, 2024 to September 17, 2027.
Aerodrome 4E category airports can land Airbus 320 aircraft with 170 seats and Boeing 777 with 368 seats.
Airports Authority said that aerodrome E4 category airports can land Pribus 320 Boeing 777 and other aircraft.
It should be noted that the classification of airports is issued every 3 years under the International Civil Aviation Rules.
