Udaipur. The property dispute of the erstwhile royal family of Mewar is deepening. Late at night, the crowd with Vishwaraj Singh forced their way to the gate of the City Palace. Meanwhile, stones were pelted from inside the City Palace. Some people from outside tried to climb the palace. The people inside the City Palace then took action. Vishwaraj Singh sat between Jagdish Chowk and City Palace late at night.

After the death of former Udaipur MP and former royal family member Mahendra Singh Mewar, there is an uproar over the coronation ceremony of his elder son Vishwaraj. Mahendra Singh Mewar’s brother and Vishwaraj’s uncle Arvind Singh Mewar closed the gates of the City Palace in Udaipur to prevent him from following the tradition. After his coronation as Maharana at Chittorgarh, Vishwaraj Singh arrived at Udaipur City Palace with his supporters. He wanted to have darshan of Dhoni Mata in City Palace. As the gates of the City Palace were closed, Vishwaraj’s supporters removed the barricades. The crowd clashed with the police. Vishwaraj Singh entered with a three-car convoy of supporters after removing the barricades. The police and a crowd of Vishwaraj’s supporters came face to face. Police used mild force.

City Palace is controlled by Vishwaraj’s uncle Arvind Singh Mewar. By issuing two notices, Arvind Singh Mewar stopped Vishwaraj from coming to the City Palace for the coronation ceremony. The legal notice clearly stated that no unauthorized person from the Trust would be allowed to enter the City Palace. The trustee of the trust is Arvind Singh Mewar. The convoy wanted to go in for Dhoni Mata’s darshan. Vishwaraj was allowed to enter the City Palace but the rest of the vehicles were stopped at the gate by the police. Security was sought from the police to stop Vishwaraj. Police are trying to stop both parties. After the death of Mahendra Singh Mewar, the Rajput feudal lords of Mewar put Mahendra Singh’s son Vishwaraj Singh on the throne for the throne of the Mewar dynasty. He has been declared as the new Maharana of the Mewar royal family.

The police are ready to prevent any kind of confrontation. Efforts are underway to avert the conflict through mutual consultation. District Collector Arvind Poswal and SP Yogesh Goyal are monitoring the entire matter. Police allowed only 3 vehicles to enter. The rest of the vehicles were stopped at the gate, which led to an altercation.

Earlier, turbans were made customary at Fateh Prakash Mahal in Chittorgarh Fort to fulfill the tradition of enthronement of Vishwaraj Singh Mewar. This ritual is performed symbolically. Coronation was done with blood during the ritual program. The coronation program started at 10 am and lasted for about 3 hours. For the first time since 1531, Tilak program was organized in Chittorgarh Fort. Earlier, Tilak was installed by Maharana Vikramaditya, son of Maharana Sanga. Udaipur was founded in 1559. After Mewar was made the capital in 1668, the ritual began to take place in Udaipur. This is the first time that a coronation ceremony was held in Chittorgarh.
