Maharajganj: Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has been in fear of a leopard for over a month, while people in Maharajganj have been living in the shadow of a leopard for a week. People are not leaving their homes alone out of fear. On Saturday morning, a leopard entered a mosque in the gram panchayat of Lakshmipur area of the district. The leopard attacked four people. People caught the leopard after a lot of effort. However, the leopard entered the mosque in Gram Panchayat Majholi during the 5 am prayers on Saturday. People had already gathered there for prayers. Seeing the people, the leopard attacked them. The attack of the leopard spread panic among the people. The people who came to pray surrounded the leopard, caught it in a fish net and tied it with a rope. However, the leopard died within the premises of the mosque. Meanwhile, four people have been injured in the attack. Who were admitted to the hospital.
People reported the incident to the police and forest department. As soon as the information was received, the police and forest department officials reached the spot. The forest department seized the body of the leopard and started further action. Those injured in the leopard attack have been identified as Sajid Ali, Nurul Huda, Ismin Khatun and Haider Ali. All of them belong to the middle class only. All the victims have been admitted to Lakshmipur CHC with the help of villagers.
