First-half goals from Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho gave Liverpool a 2-1 pre-season win over Arsenal in Philadelphia.
In the 13th minute, Salah opened the scoring by breaking through the Arsenal defence and putting the ball into the bottom corner.
Carvalho then doubled the lead in the 34th minute when he headed Harvey Allott’s clever ball over Arsenal goalkeeper Carl Hein.
Arsenal pulled a goal back just before half-time in the 40th minute through a close-range goal from Kai Havertz.
Several changes were made during halftime and the second half but Liverpool held on for the win at Lincoln Financial Field to give new boss Arne Slott his second win in two pre-season matches.
The Reds will remain in the United States and take on arch-rivals Manchester United in South Carolina on Saturday (12.30pm Sunday British time), followed by their final pre-season match against Sevilla at Anfield.
