The last rites of the five people who were killed in the New Year massacre in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, were performed. After the post-mortem in Lucknow, all the bodies were handed over to the relatives of the deceased. They were brought to their ancestral home in Mohalla Nawada of Sarai Tareen in Sambhal, where all the five bodies were buried in the graveyard. A large number of people were present during that time.
On December 31, a day before New Year, accused Arshad killed his mother and four sisters in a hotel in Lucknow. He was also supported by his father Badr who fled after the incident.
