The agreement, the first of its kind for the province, has been accepted by Manitoba teachers.
The new collective agreement covers all 37 English-speaking school divisions, whereas previously this was done through separate deals for each division.
Teachers voted 95 per cent in favour of the agreement, which will see pay increases of more than 12 per cent over four years.

Sandy Nemeth, president of the Manitoba School Boards Association, says this new agreement will put more financial pressure on departments.
“School boards across the province have always agreed very clearly and openly with government that funding needs to be commensurate with the costs that school boards are facing and that is reflected in the conversations that are currently underway on a new funding model.”
Nemeth says the deal is about more than just money.
“We do everything we can to show and say how important all of our staff are and we want them to feel valued and respected and to feel safe at school.”
The new agreement will be effective from July 2022.
