May 9 incidents case, Punjab government has appointed a private prosecutor Express News Trending Global News

Islamabad:

The Punjab government has engaged in the private special prosecutor to represent the prosecution before the Supreme Court in all cases related to the May 9 incidents.

In a notification issued by the Punjab Public Prosecution Department on March 8, the Supreme Court’s lawyer, Mr. Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi Advocate, has been appointed a special public prosecutor to represent the state in all cases related to May 09 incidents before the Supreme Court.

The notification also states that in the Supreme Court, the fee of Rs 2 lakh per case will be paid on the logical end of each case. Zulfiqar Naqvi was one of the prosecutors of the Saifer case.

In this case, PTI leaders Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were acquitted from the Islamabad High Court.

A three -member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, will hear the Punjab government’s petitions on Monday, requesting the cancellation of the bail of the accused involved in the May 9 incident.

PTI has already approached the Supreme Court to set up a judicial commission investigating the May 9 incident.

Political leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, who is the Advocate Supreme Court, says he is involved in 32 cases related to the May 9 incidents, neither the charge sheet nor the challan report is providing any explanation of specific allegations against me. Evidence against Imran Khan is also ridiculous.
